Following the news about our Cartoonist Workshops, we are delighted to announce we will also be running free workshops for children to learn how to do caricatures.
The workshops will run on Sunday 5th September at the Shrewsbury Food Festival at our very own stand.
We are lucky enough to have Chris Ryder of Wittypics joining us. Chris is a UK Leading Caricature Artist and Cartoonist with 20 years’ experience of drawing caricatures and cartoons at Weddings, Parties and Events.
She has been the inhouse caricature artist for Liverpool Football Club for nearly a decade.
Prior to being a caricature artist, Chris was a primary school and special needs teacher who combined her two passions (art and teaching) and has since returned to schools doing caricature workshops.
Chris will be sharing her expertise and running some fun workshops on how to draw caricatures on Sunday, 5th September at the Caldecott Arts Festival Stand at the Shrewsbury Food Festival in the Quarry (SY1 1RU).
The workshops will run at the following times:
Chris will help the kids to create a cartoon of themselves, using her easy step by step templates. All the children’s drawings from the day will be grouped together to create one big piece of artwork that will be printed onto a bag to help raise funds for the Caldecott Arts Festival, to be held in Whitchurch next year.
The workshops are aimed at children aged 6 years and over. Each session is 45 minutes long. Places will be limited to 20 children per workshop, so to avoid disappointment, reserve your space early!
All materials will be included, and no previous experience is needed.
Chris will also be selling caricature home kits at the festival for the special price of £7.50 (usually £9.99).
